Participant Information & Event Waiver runs’n coffee — Social Run Club

This document (the “Waiver”) outlines the terms of participation in running events organised in the format of open, social run meetups by the runs’n coffee community.

CHAPTER I. GENERAL PROVISIONS

1. Nature of the Event

Events organised by runs’n coffee are informal, open, and non-commercial in nature.

These events do not constitute mass gatherings, sporting competitions, or officially organised sporting events as defined by applicable law.

Events are free of charge and open to all participants.

Event coordinators are not organisers in a legal sense — they serve solely as initiators and coordinators of a shared running activity.

2. Voluntary Participation & Participant Responsibility

Participation in any runs’n coffee event is entirely voluntary and takes place at each participant’s own risk.

By participating, the participant confirms that their state of health permits physical activity and that they are aware of the potential risks associated with running.

Each participant bears sole responsibility for their own health, safety, actions, and their consequences.

The initiators, event coordinators, and any persons sharing information about the event accept no liability for:

  • injuries, falls, sprains, dehydration, fainting, or any other consequences of physical activity,
  • deterioration of health, including aggravation of pre-existing conditions,
  • any material damage, personal loss, or other incidental events occurring before, during, or after the event.

The route is neither secured nor closed to traffic. Participants are required to exercise caution, observe road traffic regulations, and act in accordance with general standards of conduct.

In the event of an emergency, participants are responsible for contacting the appropriate emergency services.

CHAPTER II. EVENT FORMAT

3. Structure of the Event

runs’n coffee events include a shared street or trail run, preceded or followed by a social element (e.g. at a café, park, or other public space).

The route is not marked. Participants move as a group or individually, in accordance with road traffic rules and their own judgement.

No medical coverage, time measurement, or other elements characteristic of organised sporting competitions are provided.

4. Openness of the Event

Participation is free and open to all, regardless of age or fitness level.

Consultation with a medical professional is recommended where there is any doubt regarding the participant’s state of health.

Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult at all times.

CHAPTER III. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

5. Exclusion of Organiser Liability

This event does not constitute an organised event under mass events legislation or civil law.

None of the persons initiating, coordinating, or sharing information about runs’n coffee events shall be held liable for:

  • the health or physical condition of participants,
  • actions of participants towards one another or towards third parties,
  • actions of third parties towards participants,
  • loss or damage to personal property,
  • road accidents, theft, injuries, or other incidental events.

Each participant is responsible for their own safety and personal belongings.

Events may be cancelled or postponed without prior notice.

CHAPTER IV. IMAGE & MEDIA RIGHTS

6. Use of Likeness

Photography and video recordings may be taken during events.

By participating in a runs’n coffee event, the participant grants runs’n coffee a free, unlimited, and territorially unrestricted right to use their likeness, voice, and statements recorded during the event for purposes including:

  • promotion,
  • advertising,
  • marketing,
  • informational and social media content.

Such materials may be processed, published, and distributed across social media platforms, websites, event recaps, posts, reels, and other formats by runs’n coffee or persons authorised by the club.

The participant waives any claims related to the use of their likeness and is not entitled to remuneration in this regard.

CHAPTER V. FINAL PROVISIONS

7. Informational Nature of this Document

This Waiver is informational in nature and does not constitute a contract or legal act.

Its purpose is to make participants aware of the voluntary and informal character of runs’n coffee events.

8. Acceptance of Terms

By joining a runs’n coffee event, the participant confirms they have read and accepted the contents of this Waiver.

Participation in any event constitutes agreement to the terms set out in this document.
